Stripe and Bear Beanie

After my first attempt at making a Totoro beanie for my nephew which ended up sitting too snug, I made him two beanies to make up for it..

My sister really liked the ‘U’ shape baby caps that curve under their ears. I call them mini earflaps. I used some existing wool that I already had and came up with this.

I wasn’t able to measure the beanie on my nephew when I was making it so I did a bit of guess work and the beanie came out a bit too long, 5 rows too long to be exact… But I’m slowly perfecting my beanie to head sizing. The beanie is done in half-double crochet.

I had lots of wool left over from the Totoro beanie so I made a simple bear beanie with a white border.

This is Seb. He’s one of those adorable happy babies that hardly get grumpy.
